    Systems for Disposal of Ash

    Description of work:

    Hydraulic transport of combustion products (fly and bottom ash) from TPP Kosovo B to mine open pits so as to reclaim devastated soil after exploitation of open pit coal mine. It will have great environment on protection of air and leaching water.

    Description of work:

    Transport of fly ash from ESP (electrostatic precipitator) to the selling plant (silo+loading into trucks). Transport of fly ash from ESP to mixing facility and further on hydraulic transport of slurry to disposal site.

    Description of work:


    Replacing the existing system of ash disposal (10 litres of water to 1 kg of ash) at TPP Nikola Tesla B with hydraulic transport system for thick slurry (1 litre of water to 1 kg of ash).

    The Works included the project management, planning support, design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and setting to work of the new ash disposal system at Nikola Tesla B Power Station.

    This project included construction works on:

    • Ash Silos
    • Mixing & pumping house

    The following main components are constructed:
    • Conveyor systems
    • Compressors and air vessels
    • Silo’s and discharge equipment
    • Mixing units
    • Pumps
    • Pipelines for pneumatic ash transport and slurry piping system
    • Air system for pneumatic transport
    • Instrument air system
    • Electric wiring

    During the required shutdown time for each unit the following connections and final erection has done:

    • Conveyor belts for bottom ash are modified and connected to the new bottom ash system
    • Transport vessels are installed under the relevant hoppers
    • Connection to pre-installed pneumatic systems
    • Connection to electrical systems

    Implementation period:

    2007-2010
